
Hello! Here are a few helpful points that will save your order from being delayed, and answers to some FAQs:
*** First, important information regarding MATURE READER and/or ADULTS ONLY items.
1) You must be of legal age to order and/or receive Mature Reader and/or Adults Only items, and your receiving such items must not be in violation of any local, regional or national law in your area.
2) By ordering Mature Reader and/or Adults Only items from Second Ed, you are stating legally and for the record that you are of legal age to order and receive such items, and that your receiving them is not in violation of any local, regional or national laws in your area.
3) Second Ed does not knowingly sell Mature Reader and/or Adults Only items to minors. However, Second Ed is in no way responsible if a minor represents him/herself by ordering such items from us, or if the person ordering such items is violating local, regional or national laws in their area. KIDS: misrepresenting yourself online can constitute wire fraud which is a federal felony. You can get in very big trouble for that sort of thing. Please don't mess with it.
Okay. So, what are the various ways for ordering stuff from Second Ed?
- from the website, paying by credit card (We accept DISCOVER, MASTERCARD, VISA and American Express (AMEX). We also accept PayPal but NOT for Adults Only items. We can't do it, please don't request it. If you'd like to pay by PayPal, please contact us first before ordering. All orders ship promptly, often on the day they're received.
- from the website, paying through the mail by check or money order. Yes, we accept personal checks if they're drawn on a US bank and payable in USD (US dollars). Just click the appropriate spot on the Online order form and transmit the order to us. We'll assemble your order and let you know that it's ready, and it will ship when your payment arrives. Please make checks/money orders payable to Second Ed. Sorry, no C.O.D.
- through the mail, using our website, paying by check, money order or credit card. If you prefer not to send your personal information over the net, just click on the Order by Mail button at the top of this page and download and print our Order Form. Browse through our Online Store, decide what you want, fill out the form and mail it in along with your payment! Our address, etc. is on the form.
- Please note that all our prices are in USD and that all checks/money orders must be payable in USD.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: If you're paying by credit card and it's the first time you're using that particular card for an international purchase, you should first find out if your card company or bank will charge you a fee for currency exchange or other services. Most don't, but depending on the card (not all cards are the same) your bank might, for example, levy a fee for converting into USD. It's worth your checking into it - you don't want to find an unexpected charge tacked onto your monthly statement! Also, please note that all our prices are in USD. Please make all checks/money orders payable in USD. International customers can obtain money orders in USD from banks, currency exchange agencies, Western Union and similar private companies, and possibly from your national Postal Service. Shop around, though, currency exchange fees can vary widely! Sorry, we cannot accept payment in any other currencies.
Also, the US dollar is quite low for the moment, but who knows how long that will last? Your currency can buy more than before! It's good business sense to buy while the price is right!
What's Second Ed's Return Policy?
- We're easy to get along with. Items can be returned for Store Credit up to 30 days from date of purchase. International customers - it can take longer than 30 days for the order to get to you and then to get back to us again, so please contact us first before returning any merchandise. We'll work something out.
- If we've sent you the wrong item, or is it arrives damaged or turns out to be defective, we'll make it right with a replacement or refund. Again, please contact us first before returning any merchandise.
How much are the shipping charges?
- Not very much. Orders mailed to US addresses, including APO/FPO: $1.00, but orders totaling $25.00 or more pay no shipping charges!
- International orders (addresses outside of the USA) pay $5.00 USD per order, regardless of weight! Stock up - whether it's lightweight CD-ROMs or a whopping big bundle of books, it's still $5.00 USD per order! Good heavens, how can you beat that??
How fast do the orders ship, and how long for delivery?
- We ship promptly, usually within a day or two of payment. Orders often go out on the same day that they are received! If there's a delay, we'll notify you.
- We use the US Postal Service - Priority Mail (2 to 3 days), Parcel Post (4 to 8 days) and Media Mail (4 to 10 days), depending on the content and weight of your order. Delivery time depends on your distance from Central Florida. The method of shipping is at the discression of Second Ed. We don't seek to make profits from shipping charges or handling fees. Some mailorder houses do.
- Overseas orders always go by Air. It usually takes 6 to 10 days for deliveries to Europe and Australia. Actual delivery times can vary.
- Delivery times are approximate and are listed here for reference only. Circumstances such as bad weather can delay Postal deliveries.
Some points on using the Online Store
It's fairly staightforward - the usual shopping cart/checkout sort of thing. There are a few details to keep in mind, though, for our and any other Online Store.
- When placing an order, Do not use the 'back' button on your browser to return to a previous page! It'll mess everything up and you will likely lose your data. Just use the buttons within the Online Store - 'Catalog', 'Storefront', etc.
- It isn't necessary to register - you can place orders without registering - but registering will save you time later on since you won;t have to enter all your data again.
- If you've downloaded the Online Storefront and things aren't working correctly (Catalogs not coming up, for example), try refreshing the Storefront. That usually does the trick.
- If you're having problems with using the site or with processing your Order Form (pages won't load, connections break, the site keeps resetting itself), or with transmitting your order to us, and you're running an active Anti-Popup and/or a Privacy program, try (temporarily) disabling those programs. Unfortunately, some Privacy Programs are not selective and will often block stuff that you want to see. You can also allow cookies from our site. That can make page loading a lot easier.
Our Online Order Form is a standard template, pretty much the same as in other Online Stores.
- If you don't wish to list your phone number, you don't have to. However, the order form requires some data. If you want to list your phone number, that's fine, but otherwise just type in some 'x's or 555-555-5555 or something like that.
- The $1.00 Shipping Charge stays on the form even if your order is $25.00 or over, but you'll get $1.00 discount if your order totals $25.00 or more, so you won't be charged the $1.00.
